Character Connex was designed by a team of experts in the field of childhood education and those who actively work with children. These half-hour school assemblies are performed by local presenters who have been trained, and follow our high quality presentation standards. Our assemblies utilize sight, sound, and audience participation to challenge and hold the attention of every child—even the antsy ones!
Each Character Connex 35-minute presentation focuses on one character trait, such as honesty, and is packed full of thoughtful and challenging examples of making positive choices. Each program contains the following segments:
- The Opening: A video-driven countdown begins to play -- announcing the start of the program.
- Crazy Games: Students participate in engaging activities, which set the tone and pace for the program.
- "Word on the Street": Through video, our word-on-the-street reporters interview kids to hear what they have to say about the character trait being presented. Afterwards, children in the audience share what they think and feel about the day's theme.
- Real-Life Drama: Students are selected to participate in a fun skit that reinforces the theme for their peers.
- Super-Cool Illusions: Magic captures everyone's attention--young and old! Illusions are incorporated within the format of the program to help cement the character principle in a tangible way.
- The Board: With the help of a ""magic"" marker, caricatures that are drawn on a dry-erase board come to life to talk about the theme.
- Review Game: The program is capped off with an interactive game in which every child may participate; all the while the theme is being reinforced. There's even a chance to win prizes!
